RDI Computer Corp has developed a new portable workstation poweredby the 85-MHz microSPARC(R) II microprocessor. The PowerLite 85integrates up to 2.4 GB of internal hard disk storage capacity (4.4 GBwith external options), TGX graphics acceleration, an internal floppydrive, fax modem and an optional 10.4-inch, 1024X768 high resolution flatpanel color display, in a compact 8.5 pound, 2X13X11-inch package. Foundin no other portable workstation, this exceptional combination ofcompenents and features is designed to allow mobile users to take fulladvantage of software engineering, financial modeling, electronic designautomation (EDA), computer aided design (CAD) and other system-intensiveapplications traditionally bound solely to the desktop.Using enabling hardware and operating system technology from Sun(TM) andSunSoft(TM) respectively, the PowerLite 85 provides 100 percentcompatibility with Solaris(R) and SunOS(TM) applications. Additionally,RDI conducted an extensive and rigorous beta test program with numerouscorporate sites, including SunSoft(TM) and large UNIX distributors tovalidate success.
